MORE ENJOYABLE Welcome to our home. We hope that you enjoy yourselves
at the beach as much as we do. Below are some suggestions that will hopefully make your stay more enjoyable.
We appreciate your treating our home with respect and leaving it in the same good condition. Upon your
initial arrival to our home, I would like you to check out all of the facilities, preferable during the first 30 minutes.
If you find conditions unsafe, or a problem, we request that you call at the number below immediately. Please remember
that this is a private home and we ask that you care of it as if it were yours. Upon arrival it is your responsibility to
let me know if anything is broken or not working properly, otherwise you will be held liable for any damages. We can be reached
at the following numbers are 409-718-0109
or 409-718-0190. Please restrict all smoking to outside areas only and DO NOT THROW CIGARETTE BUTTS IN THE YARD. Smoking
anywhere other than outside of the home is cause for forfeiture of damage deposit. Yard and ash trays should be free of any
cigarette butts upon departure or there will be a charge for cleanup. Please leave furniture
that is in the house inside, there are chairs in the laundry room to be used on the balcony or deck only NOT FOR THE BEACH.
Nothing from the cabin should be taken to the beach. If you are not using the lights, please turn them off as you would at
your own home. Please use the OUTDOOR shower that is downstairs every time
upon returning from the beach and before entering the house. The goal is to minimize the sand in any part of the house including
the inside showers and tubs upstairs . Utilizing the outdoor shower will also make your cleanup easier. Please do not turn the AC below 72 degrees, it
will not get cooler faster it will only freeze up the unit and a service call will be added to your rental. Again use it as
if you were paying the electric bill and/or repair bill for the a/c unit. Keeping the front door closed and the ceiling fans
on all the time will go a long way in keeping the home comfortable. Please do not flush feminine napkins, tampons,
diapers or paper towels down the toilet. It is not a pretty site when the plumber has to come out and he does let us know
the cause of the stoppage and there goes your deposit. Please keep the BBQ pits on the ground level, as it is against the Galveston
County Fire Code to have them on the deck plus it is dangerous. Please pull the pit out from underneath the deck onto the
grass area for grilling so as not to have the grease and BBQ sauce stain the concrete. Refrigerator
– Please do not attempt to accelerate the cooling affect by lowering the thermostat, this will only cause the unit to
freeze up. If you have small children that like to push buttons please put the lock on the refrigerator door so they can not
get the water and ice all over the floor. Even though there is an icemaker it will not keep up with large groups so please
remember to get ice. Washer/Dryer – Please be sure to take care and not overload these units. Please use
the outdoor shower to pre-rinse sand out of all clothing before putting them into the washing machine. Sand in the washer
or dryer will automatically be cause for forfeiture of deposit. Garbage – Please use plastic
bags in the kitchen, baths and outside garbage cans, extra bags are under the original bag in the inside cans, bags for the
outside can will be under the kitchen sink. Deposit all bagged trash in the can and place out at the street
for pick up. All trash must be bagged as nothing is to be thrown in the dunes, left at the beach or in the yard. Beach Tar – Please check your feet for tar before entering the deck or living areas. Tar is easily removed with
baby/mineral or Shout before you get it all over the carpet and have to pay for carpet cleaning. Family Environment
– We rent to Families and accept reservations only from adults. No prom, spring
break, graduation groups, chaperoned or not, they will not be allowed. No exceptions
will be made and no keys will be given to anyone but an adult. If we discover overcrowding or damage, all parties will be
asked to leave promptly, without a refund of rent or deposit. Rental Capacity – In order
to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, please do not bring more people than the house will accommodate as the house is
on a septic system. The total number of persons allowed in the unit at any one time is restricted to the stated limit for
the house. Overcrowding will result in a loss of your deposit and possible of your rent since you will be asked to leave.
Inspections – Owners may enter the home at all reasonable times to inspect, complete, replace or repair any problems.
The neighbors know us and will not have a problem calling us if there is to much noise or over crowding. Hurricane Policies – In the event of the issuance of a COUNTY MANDATED EVACUATION, we will prorate your rent
and refund you for the number of nights you could not occupy the house. ALL FOOD MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE HOUSE PRIOR TO LEAVING. NO CAMPERS, TRAILERS OR RV’S WILL BE ALLOWED Making reservations – When making your reservations, please have in mind the exact dates and the number of people
that will occupy the house. A Security Deposit of $300.00 is required for each rental period. If your reservation
is made by phone, we must have your Security Deposit within 5 days to hold the house. The balance is due fifteen (15) days
prior to check in. The Security Deposit is refunded as long as the house is left in the same condition that you found it and
the linens are all accounted for and clean. The rent must be paid in cash, certified check, cashier’s check,
postal/bank money order or traveler’s check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. Items to Bring – We currently supply one set of bed
linens for each bed, pillows for each bed– some kitchen and bath towels (this will last until they start disappearing).
We have dish washing soap and clothes soap along with an initial roll of bathroom tissue, paper towels and we try to
keep salt, pepper and garlic in the cabinets. We suggest that you bring plastic garbage bags, food, condiments, staple items,
bathroom tissue, paper towels. We have tried to make sure that some of the above items are left in the house at all times
but sometimes people take them. We hope that you have a great stay. Please be considerate
and do the same for our next guests. Cleaning supplies are under the kitchen and bathroom sinks and vacuum is in the laundry
room, please let us know if you use the last of something. Please do not forget that our neighbors, some live there full time,
are not always in a PARTY MOOD just because it is a weekend, it may be there only time off. Please keep
this in mind when it is getting late and all of the lights are out around you. Thank you, we want you to enjoy your stay at our “AFTER
IKE” home and please call if you have any problems at all as we live close and can get things taken care of immediately.
